And honestly, it all depends on the person's yard you are in. Some could care less and some are super anal retentive about their yards and don't so much as want a mouse walking in it. I feel like fellow pet owners are the most understanding. I mean they let their own pets use the bathroom in their yard, so what's one or two more? I say, as long as the dog isn't peeing or walking in bushes/flowers it's ok. And definitely should be ok if you have bags to pick up the poop!

But, honestly if you ever see any of the neighbors out, just ask if they have a problem because I honestly think it is a case to case kind of scenario, if that makes sense.J.L.S.http://www.blogger.com/profile/14454487820308657502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8784580421023721298.post-29479343833001763772010-06-12T06:42:56.603-07:002010-06-12T06:42:56.603-07:00I agree with J.L.S.1. it's probably most ok wi...I agree with J.L.S.

1. it's probably most ok with other dog owners.

2. ALWAYS pick it up.

3. try to keep the dog pee out of the flower beds and shrubs.

Also, I would add, if you know they have little kids, stay away. Kids love to roll around in the grass and the idea that someone just scooped up a Dog Truffle where my kid is rolling around... ew.

Keep the dog near the street, most paretns don't let their kids go near the street anyway.Just Another MilSpousehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01479557615827258234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8784580421023721298.post-36685282482507776402010-06-12T08:17:49.216-07:002010-06-12T08:17:49.216-07:00As a homeowner in the 'burbs I wanted to weigh...As a homeowner in the 'burbs I wanted to weigh in with my opinion. It absolutely, positively makes me upset when people allow their dogs to walk through my front lawn. I literally start to see red. Here's why:

1.) I work hard to take care of my lawn and flower beds. If anyone is going to mess them up, it's gonna be me.

2.) Dog pee can/does kill grass. If the Homeowner's Association sees dead spots on my front lawn, I get fined. Most people who own dogs don't allow the dogs on their front lawn for this reason...the dogs can use the bathroom in the backyard.

3.) I know that my front lawn doesn't have a fence around it, but it is still my property. I'm just a little bit territorial. =)

Anyway, I think it's great that you're asking and thinking about other people. In general, allowing your dog to walk on other people's lawns isn't okay. But allowing the dog to use the bathroom on someone's lawn is a huge no-no. It's a quick way to ensure you don't have friends in the neighborhood. Is there a small lawn patch between the sidewalk and the street? Allow your dog to walk there and do its business there.Jessica @ {Mis}Adventures of a Lifetimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02446290149055772348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8784580421023721298.post-5836012638935192942010-06-12T09:29:43.950-07:002010-06-12T09:29:43.950-07:00I can't wait to see pictures of your new home....I can't wait to see pictures of your new home. What a nice landlord you have :) Not sure many would have done that!

I love your questions at the very end :) I would say if the pavement is hot and you see other dogs walking around at the edge, that it should be fine. I wouldnt let my dog do number 1 or 2 in their yards tho. Let your dog do its thing before you go on a walk, that's what I do.

Just so you... I made my old blog private and created a new one! My new blog will look VERY similar since all of my old posts have been transferred to it, but this time around I'm not using names or pictures.
