A Little Stress Venting...

The closer we get to having this baby, the more anxiety I feel. Which I guess it completely normal...Anytime you're skirting uncharted territory, something new, you tend to worry. Or at least I do!

I've narrowed my stress factors down to a few things. The biggest one being that I'll go into labor at a really inconvenient time. HAHA! Let me explain.

My husband will be leaving to the field in 11ish days and won't return until I am on the brink of my 38th week! I'm terrified that Sugar Cube will show before then. Not just that though. I'm scared that I'll be all alone when the time comes, with no ride to the hospital!

Yes, there is always the ambulance option. But who wants to be transported to labor and delivery via an ambulance? Not me! I guess when it comes right down to it, if I'm in any amount of pain, I won't care who gets me there. But the idea of racing down the road with screaming sirens and the unfamiliar faces of whoever is inside that ambulance, staring at me, just doesn't sound appealing...

Then there is the whole, WHERE will I go into labor, keeping in mind that hubby isn't back...I have 2 dogs y'all. They require exercise and the only place I've found where I can get them out, is at a dog park, 45 minutes from our house. We don't have side walks in our neighborhood or much of a neighborhood at all to walk them in...Taking them out by the road is just scary because I have only enough room to walk just me and not 2 large dogs on either side of myself.

This dog park is deluxe, let me tell you! But seriously, it's like 22 acres all in all...I can barely walk a mile without needing to pee or rest because my belly starts to contract a bit...So I'm either going to be the bad mom and not exercise my dogs while R is away or cave and possibly go into labor in a field of dried up grass...Or snow, seeing as we're now getting some:)

And lastly, I'm nervous that R won't be AT the delivery...It'll suck if he's not here when I start going into labor, but I can handle that, just as long as he gets to see his daughter being born...

Where their training, it's not TOO far. Maybe 200 miles, tops. But because of the recent weather development they are shutting down the passes to this place and so another route needs to be taken.

This other route will make it a 24 hour drive. They have to dispatch someone from Ft. Lewis to go get him (12 hours up) and them the ride back (12 hours.) I know of women who take more than 24 hours to deliver, but I'm not really banking on that being me. Also, who wants to be in labor that long!!!

I know it'll all work out and what will happen, will happen...The important thing being that baby girl arrives healthy:)

Speaking of baby girl and the fact that she'll most definitely want baked goodies, I've been
 trying out my baking skills!
Recipe

OMG, these are AMAZING and so hard to mess up. Made from scratch, strawberry cupcakes with strawberry butter cream frosting! YUMMY! The frosting alone is divine. I had a hard time washing the access from the bowl and not just eating the left over. LOL.

These would be perfect for V-day coming up way to quickly!

A cloud of change and BABY FEVER!

The husband and I have officially went from--roommate status to married couple status, YAY! R is no longer a drill sergeant, currently in school finishing up his E-7 promotion & getting ready for this PCS coming up oh so fast! I have only FIVE short weeks of work left and then it's off to Tennessee to visit family one more time before there's a bajillion states between them and I---For those who didn't know, we are currently stationed at Ft. Benning so visiting family isn't as road painful as it will be once we move.

Leaving here is going to be bitter sweet! This has been my home for almost 3 years and the place where R and I first met! We have A LOT of good memories here as well as some of our favorite eatery's, parks and hangouts...I'm excited for the change in scenery and life style as well as climate, haha, but now we have a very BIG new town to navigate to make home. Also moving 2 large dogs and a cat could be interesting when this is the only home they've known.

In bigger news, I've thankfully hit a mile stone I never thought I'd reach---Used to be that I had to have change and that next place, but being married has somehow changed that...I'm thinking more long term now---Wanting a house of my own. Wanting to buy furniture that will stay in the same living room until I decide it needs to go...I am even getting BABY FEVER! However R and I are not in the right place to be trying those pipes...Or maybe we are? He's deploying next spring *insert sad face here* By the time we reach Washington he'll be leaving in 7-8 months for a year...We have discussed the baby thing and I think we've settled on a time frame but keeping that hush hush for now:)

I'm really excited for the unexpected switch. I used to think I was defective; a natural born gypsy. Definitely someone who would never be settled. The first time I heard Zac Brown's song, Colder Weather I cried because it fit all too well. I figured life would always be about rambling for me---But turns out people just need time to mature and grow--Thinking long term finally feels wonderful and there is definitely a sense of peace I have found in that...

I'd be excited that it's Thursday if I had this weekend off, but I don't--However, I can be excited for all of you who do! Happy Thursday everyone!

Missing: Brilliant Title...

A lot happening in this little part of my world! Last week, bright and early, I drove the six hours back to my hometown, spending five wonderful and much needed days with family. There I got to meet my families newest bundle of joy...I know I might be bias, being her proud aunt and all, but no...She is the most beautiful thing! Take a look and tell me you don't agree!?!?

Looking at how precious she is!!! And all those adorable milk bubbles shes sporting??? What a cutie pie:) Almost makes me want to have one earlier then planned...Almost:)

During that same week, hand over heart, R stood in front of his company commander pledging another six years to this country he serves and to the Army...Sadly, I was not able to make his re-enlistment, but was happy to hear that his 1st. Sgt. and fellow drills did, looking head on with big smiles:) Kind of like this one, I'm guessing?

Did you know that you, as a spouse, gets a certificate of appreciation?? I actually think that's neat...What do I think is even cooler??? The fact that we got to list three of our choice picks for future duty stations! The first pick was Germany, of course, then Hawaii and Colorado. I would be happy with either one, but could really get excited over three years in Europe...Who wouldn't! I get super jazzed when I see change of scenery in my near future (12 months to be exact)...What better life, then the military, to support my habit of travel;)

Approximately two weeks ago my sister M asked me a question that I can't really talk about just yet, but if all goes as we hope, I will be one happy girl by the time July rolls around!

R and I have decided to move out of our cozy one bedroom apartment and into a house! He needs a garage for all his toys and I need a backyard for my puppy...I recently helped move a friend last month into a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home and was so taken with the idea of having a place like that of our own...Don't get me wrong, the place we live now it great and I've loved spending our first year married here...But its time...

R graduated his last cycle of soldiers on Friday and now has a three month break! Easter week, we are taking advantage of this time, and going to Gatlinburg, TN, for 4 nights, spending every morning and evening here:

That's right! Our very own secluded cabin, deep in the heart of Tennessee's beautiful Smokey Mountains...They call it "Chasing Moonbeams." I think the name is what sold me;) This is a much needed break for us both and I cannot wait to be sitting on that wood chair, feet propped up, drinking a piping hot cup'o' joe...

There's yet another big change coming my way, however, I'm choosing to sit on it for another few days...But for now I will leave you with this...My latest obsession! Verizon's Droid Eris...
We are resigning in April, so I need to make a decision on want phone I want to be stuck with for the next two years...My biggest complaint is its all touch...But I've been playing with this phone on my lunch breaks (I work at a mall) for the past two weeks and I love it!!! I seriously could see myself never putting it down...Could be a bad thing?!?!

Have a great Tuesday y'all!! I'm off to pay some attention to my google reader:)

Turns Out...

I get a text from the bride , my sister, last night saying that Tyler and she has decided to wait and see how they handle the deployment before marrying one another...YAY! I couldn't be happier...I'd say if they get through this in one piece and are still thinking of marriage, they might just have something...

As Promised...The Dreaded Wedding...

So my sisters wedding is coming up shortly and I know I tortured y'all in saying, some posts back, that I was not excited about it... Well I'm still not excited about it and that just makes me feel like a bad sister...However, maybe not...If I were a bad sister, wouldn't I pretend that they were perfect for each other and that I was all kinds of supportive? Gosh, I don't know...I know that they feel this is the right thing, but its more of a duty to my sister rather then a want...Or at least that's what her remarks in marrying him has brought me to believe...Okay, enough thinking out loud. Onto the explanation!

This is my sister and her *then* boyfriend Tyler...They were really cute together and all of us were really glad to see her smiling again. A long story short, Mouse had been in a really bad car accident involving only herself 1 year previous from the date of this picture. She had been life flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN for brain damage as result of that accident. It was very sad to see and most days made me cry. She was so full of life and always wore a shining smile where ever she went...But after that, she barley knew who she was and where she was most of the time, let alone remembering what a smile was. Well during that year recovery, she had flown to Oregon to be with my parents and older sister Mary. The recovery went well. The doctors said she was young and would bounce back at least 97 percent of the way and I feel she did, if not 100 percent! Sadly, in that year she had gotten involved with a guy that took advantage of her less then strong mind, and really did some damage. So when she returned to Tennessee where I was living, she was ready to get back to normal and just have some fun. Gosh, it couldn't have been more then three weeks when Tyler entered the picture. They had met at a club during an outing with my other sister Angel and a friend...
As you can see she was dressed super cute that night and feeling pretty flirty:p Mouse is the one in the black tank. I don't think any man stood a chance that night and from what Angel told me, that's just the way it went down:p
Well Tyler took notice and introduced himself by jumping into one of these pictures and the rest is history. I wish I could say that this was a romantic beginning to an even more romantic life together, but truth be told, things just really went south. After dating 5 months Mouse comes to me bawling saying that she is 11 weeks pregnant.

She was always complaining about how clingy Tyler was and about how jealous he is. Well now they are having a kid together so Tyler proposes...She accepted only because she felt weird being pregnant without a ring on her finger. Not one of her smarter moves, I know...Tyler was and IS obsessed with my sister. All he wants is to marry her so that he owns her and no one elses can have her. I just think that is really scary and that Mouse needs to be careful. He has already went off on her, locking her in the house while the whole time yelling and throwing things; Mouse didn't know what to do other then curl up in the corner of the couch and crying. Man, I wanted to fillet him when I heard about that. By this time She had already had their son Colton, and luckily he was over at Tyler's parents house. Well since then, they've really just been like roommates. She doesn't enjoying being intimate with him. They fight all the time. Tyler is always keeping them in debt. And then there's the whole jealousy thing. Mouse says she doesn't want them to split for Coltons sake and also because I know shes scared of being a single mom; I don't blame her! But marriage is for life and I am NOT of the belief that you should marry or stay married for the child's sake. My own parents were less then happy my entire life and there were times I would have begged them to get a divorce. It was like walking on pins and needles for 18 years. You just want the fighting and hurting to stop. You love them both and you just want it to stop. Well my sister and Tyler stayed engaged, if you will, this entire time until three weeks ago when she announces that they are finally getting married...My first thought is why now? The answer is, Tyler's deploying in October for a year and he is really pushing for the union. He doesn't want to leave without putting that final ring on her finger. Mouse says they decided "now" because she doesn't want another woman raising her son at some point and vis verse. So not only is Mouse NOT in love, but she is getting married a few weeks before a deployment! Ummm, do you see my point? A deployment is hard enough on a strong marriage! A lot of you know this...I'm just scared for her...I'm not sure if this made any since to you all...But the bottom line is, she is not happy in this situation already, and shes fixin to bind herself to it! I would love to hear your thoughts ladies...Also, my sister Mary asked me to to see if some of you would be willing to email Mouse with the , down and dirty, of a deployment to really give her a better picture of what to expect? She won't listen to me because duh, I'm her sister:p And two, because I was not married to Robert during his deployments...So I don't count:p I'd really appreciate it...Of course, Mouse would be aware of you writing her and I would make sure it was okay first:) Just let me know if any of you are willing to do this! I am off to the shower...Work is on the horizon...

Reenlistment...

After work tonight, I swung by Ft. Benning to drop dinner off to Robert because he had CQ again...Bummer... But in all honesty I could kiss him; You see, the hubs actually volunteered for another one just so he could have tomorrow off with me...Be still my heart! Isn't he just a peach:p However, getting back on track...Robert asked me a really good question tonight that I thought would be interesting to ask all of my military followers/wives...This might actually be an easy "cut and dried" answer for a lot of you, but for me it was something to think about...Over the course of eating his Shrimp Parmesan Pasta, Robert and I headed into the whole him reenlisting conversation (again) but this time Robert wanted to know my thoughts on it, and if I could decide whether he stay or get out, what would I choose and why...Hmmmm...I hadn't really thought about this much because I know this is his life and he intends to make it a career, so I never question it... But after some hemming and hawing, I came to the conclusion that even though I hate the thought of him deploying again and I'd love to have him home more, the simple truth is...The Army is where it's at for Robert...He is the type of man that is happiest when he feels apart of something, and the military is definitely a big something...I came to this conclusion many months ago when he'd tell me, there were days that he wanted to go back to Iraq and he truly meant it...Oh yes, I got my feelings hurt over this... I understood him to be saying he'd rather be fighting over there then be home with me. However, I now know, that was my hurt and insecurity thinking, and I dug deep to really see what was behind this crazy talk...This is what I found....Robert, like all the men, want that deep sense of manly belonging and purpose and fighting this war has brought that to them in the biggest way...Lets be honest, this war blends perfectly with our men's makeup and feeds them in a way that we (their women/family) will never be able to. But in saying that, we are what drives our men to stand up and fight, ultimately placing them into the breeding grounds where their nature can relate and thrive...So to give you the answer I gave my husband just over an hour ago, No I do not want him to "get out" and yes I do want him to reenlist. My husbands happiness means everything to me and to encourage him into something I know would leave him empty, is wrong. Robert, has come to the same conclusion, I think, but wanted to hear me say the words "Its okay." I feel he also wanted to give me that voice most of us military wives feel we don't have? Ahhhhh, yet another reason I married this man...So thoughtful and I LOVE HIM! What about you ladies? What are your thoughts on the hubs reenlisting/not?

Robert's new endearment for me is "My artichoke heart." And for some reason it just melts my pee pickin little heart:p Goodnight everyone and P.s. Have all of you been running into problems with commenting on my blog? Because twice I have heard from readers who have been and now I'm curious...Let me know!

Edit: I should probably say that this next reenlistment means life for Robert until he retires, so its a big final decision for us!

Creepy Finds...

So I was cleaning my house at 2:00 a.m. thursday morning and, while doing so, I found the words and images for my next post. please refrain from laughing over my early morning house work All I can say about the pictures below is, "Lord help the stupid fool who ever trys and breaks into this particualr apartment." Please enjoy while I show you the creepy things this Army wife gets to dust and clean around:)

This is an IED *explosive which can still explode* that Robert brought back from Iraq with him, I'm sure...He has another one on the shelf below this one. I'm almost positive he had them positioned as book ends before we got married...

From the words of Crocodile Dundee "Now thats a knife!" I mean, what am I going to do with that? Filet a steak?

Now this I can get excited about! I frequently run around the apartment with this massive samuri sword all the while yipping and pipping like Zena the Warrior Princess...You don't even want to see me in that leather getup:p

And yes, the husby's nightstand...All that edgy metal and there stands one of my purfume bottles:p Oh and his nose hair pluckers; now thats good for an eye gouge aye?

But wait! He does have a soft side...This is "Fred" the bear he sent me from Iraq with, not one but, TWO vases of fresh flowers...His redeeming qualities:p

So whats the verdict? Is he weird or does your husbands bestow these little gifts into your cleaning as well?

Why Becca!

Now why did I have to go and do that...PMS is getting the better of me today and as if the feeling of wanting to bust out in tears isn't bad enough, I willing sit my rear in front of the t.v and proceed to watch the tear jerker Pearl Harbor...What can I say; I'm a glutton for punishment! I watched this movie way back and I swore then, that I'd never step within ten feet of that movie ever again...Well imagine the degree of emotion I faced watching it this time around, being married to a military man....ARGH! I swear I cried like five times today over it...Being married to Robert, this stuff hits a little too close to home now...NEVER AGAIN! Oh wait, there playing it back to back great... On a side note, I about crapped my pants when Robert told me he volunteered for grenade duty the other day, GASP! "Yeah yeah yeah!" He tells me. "I made things go boom!" The part that got me was that, not only did he carry one in each hand, but they also strapped him down with four more across his vest! What a ticking time bomb...I know their trained in that kind of stuff but I've always been scared of grenades and the thought of my hunny being strapped to FOUR just makes my heart stop. Yes I know, he's been to Iraq and he's been to Afghanistan and has faced more threatening objects, but come on, I'm his wife and I worry:p

Yesterday I went out to fix my power cord problem and in one way I failed, but in another I succeeded! I had sort of priced these things on the Internet two days ago and got a general idea of how much they cost. So I was greatly surprised when Wal-Mart was selling them for $40.00 more dollars then what I had seen...I then drove to Best Buy thinking that they might be cheaper due to their larger selection of all things PC, WRONG! Best Buy does not have the "best buys." A whooping $120.00 bucks! Frustrated, because I'm a cheapo, I head home and immediately begin to search the Internet, yet again, for a reasonable power cord and SCORED! I ordered it yesterday for $22.00 with shipping and handling included! I expect it to be here in the next three days...Don't you just love it when you feel like you've cheated retail:p So for another few days I'll have to put up with my Love's loud, awkward keyboard inside this cave:)

I promise to post about Bella soon! I have kinds of questions for you pet owners. I just don't want to make this post longer...Also, I PROMISE to post about my running trial here soon but I think I'll wait until I get my laptop up and running again:p Happy Friday everyone! I'm off give Bella another shot at watering the grass:p

3:45...

3:45 should not even exist Robert's alarm goes off at 3:45 every morning and I am really starting to hate that thing! Not because it wakes me up but because this means its time for him to leave me and our warm comfortable bed. This morning, when it went off, I immediately snuggled close while wrapping my arms around his chest. I like to think he stayed in the bed 10 minutes longer just for my sake, sensing that I was missing him and didn't want him to go...Lately, I've been really craving some "us" time. Yesterday he was let go early (around 4:00) and surprised me at the food court. I was standing in line at Subway taking my break and this just made my entire night! Thirty whole minutes of just him and I, two subs and a coke...Ahhhh...We talked a bit when I told him that I've been wanting to go camping! Ladies I can't tell you how friggin wonderful that sounds right now! You would think after the three years of non stop travel and camping I did as a kid I would never want to see another fire pit or tent pole, but I'm genuinely craving this! The whole nine: two camp chairs staged around a lite campfire with our tent looming in the back drop. Us devouring sticky s'mores while listening to the crackle-pop of the wood burning, smoldering out the sound of crickets and bull frogs as it does...Am I crazy or does this sound good to anyone else? Of course, I don't know how well a campfire would go over in Georgia when its still 80 degrees in the evening...hmmmm...But you get the general idea! It is now almost 8:00 p.m and the hubs still isn't home....Grrrrr...I need to go for another run:p I can't wait to post in one more week on the results of my run/walk approach! Its already looking good but I don't want to spoil the ending and want to build suspense for everyone, so I'll wait and give you all the numbers on speed, distance and how it felt then...HA HA! Have a great evening everyone, I'm off to try and occupy myself until the man walks through that door...I'm sure I resemble a pathetic puppy right now:p

Hug your Hero!

Another Memorial Day has come, and again I am wondering the same thought I had last year as well as the year before that. Why does it always seem to rain on this day of remembrance...There have been very few Memorial Days in my 24 years where it has not rained so I'm beyond thinking "coincidence" like I have in the past...A thought came to me out of the blue yesterday while stretching for my 2 mile run. I was there at my favorite running spot, using my car to steady myself, and as I did, I noticed a truck pull up with two gentlemen inside. They proceeded to pull out brooms and chairs readying one of the pavilions for a their Memorial Day BBQ and family get together...I smiled at them, then took off running, having already set my Ipod to the song " I Need A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler... While I was listening to the words,
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero til the end of the night.
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
I felt like I finally knew why Memorial day is full of rain. I suddenly wanted to cry as this realization hit me....To me the rain represents all the tears of our fallen Hero's, their loved ones and of our nation as we dealt with their deaths...It represents the tears of our joy when soldiers come home to us, alive and safe...It represents the adversity that our Nation is fighting to over come...The war is raining down on all of us, our husbands, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, wives and children but that "rain" will not keep us down...We will still remember the ones we've lost but we will honor them by marching on as they would have done... We honor them by finding joy in the life they fought for this country to have...So even though it rains, embrace it and enjoy life today and everyday. Hug your Hero if you can... And finally, for the men and women still over there fighting this war, to their wives and children, I SALUTE YOU! You truly are to be celebrated for your strength and sacrifices... Let us all raise our glass high as we applaud you, our Hero's! May our Nation have a VERY wonderful Memorial day full of joy and love! I'm off to hug my Hero:)

My first (question) post...Its a thinker:p

So this is a question that came up over dinner at Ruby Tuesdays tonight, one that I thought I would ask y'all opinion on...Is there a difference between fear and respect and if so, which is more effective in, oh lets say, a Drill Sgt line of work? Robert's 4th day on the job yielded the concern that maybe he is not enough of a (hard ass) because the privates do not seem to fear him...In fact they flock to him...However, these young men/older men seem to respect him greatly and strive for his approval...This he has noted...I feel that he is right on track. I know that the typical image of a Drill Sgt. is rock hard and mean as a snake but is this truly effective and necessary to gain compliance and respect? Isn't that really what they are trying to achieve in those nine weeks anyhow? Here is my take on it...Everyone has a style that works best for them. Yes, there are guide lines and rules of being a Drill Sgt. but one Drill Sgt. way of doing things might not work for the next Drill Sgt. Robert is definitely NOT a mean ass, even though this job encourages/wants him to be. He is naturally a teacher and mentor and loves to see his time and effort take flight in those he is instructing. So naturally he would be the approachable type as this is just his makeup...These men are (genuinely) locked into everything Robert says and truly takes it to heart. They seem to WANT his opinion on how to become better at this or that, where as some of the other Drill Sgt. have such a huge wall around them that the privates cannot even get close. I personaly do not feel he has anything to worry about as the privates still approach him in a respectful manner, at parade rest with hands behind back and asks for permission to speak. Robert has also established that he will continue to, relatively speaking, "have that ass" when ever they step out of line so there is definitely that distinction there...In fact, just yesterday, one of the privates asked that Robert keep up the level of strictness because he felt like their platoon needed that. What do you ladies think? Is he right on track; approaching this new position with the (right) ending result in tact? Or do you think the traditional way of a Drill Sgt. is still best? Using fear to gain respect, but then, at the end of the day is it really respect? Ahhhhh, such a fine line there!

Drill Sgt. first three days

So I hadn't seen Robert in two days up until last night and thats such a weird feeling because we both live under the same roof! I know, I know...We both knew it was coming to this, but now that we're here, it just seems so wrong! This is how the past few days have gone: We both go to bed on Sunday night, ready for the work week on Monday. Robert's alarm goes off at 3:45 a.m, Monday morning, he pops out of bed, throws on his PT gear and quickly kisses my forehead as I struggle to get out a sleepy "I love you" before he leaves.

Monday night I come home at about 11:45 p.m to the sound of his heavy breathing in the bedroom. I go in, kiss his forehead and whisper "Love you babe." Then head to bed myself...

Tuesday, please repeat monday but only on Tuesday:p

So you can imagine how nice it was to have yesterday off knowing that I would get to see Robert and actually talk to him before it was bedtime! I cooked us a nice meal accompanied with waldorf salad for dessert and was still working on it when he came through the door at about 6:30. I immediately wanted to hear about his first three days so while I chopped and stired he filled me in. Apparently the privates are already responding to him and wanting to earn his respect which I totally understand because Robert takes the Army very seriously and his job seriously so through that he demands respect and seems to be getting it. I had no doubts about this, just his ability to keep that mean muggin face on all day long:p Well turns out that hasn't been a problem either:p
On his second day one of the platoon leaders told Robert to go out into the hall and scuff the privates up...This is not something Robert is foreign to, as he is/was an NCO, but he asked the platoon leader what they did wrong.

Patoon Leader: "Nothing, you just need to go out there and tell them that you might be new but show them not to **** with you." Lol, Robert just smirked, spun on his heel and entered the hallway yelling...I have to say this is a side of Robert that I have never seen before so it is strange to hear these stories, but I am really proud of him and the fact that he's fitting right in. His platoon leader gave him his approval yesterday, meaning that Robert had made the transition smoothly and that he's doing just fine. Phew!

During combatives yesterday Robert had all the privates wanting to fight him and ladies you should have seen the bruises he came home with! Apparently most of them were telling another private that they couldn't get anything on Drill Sgt., that all they could do was hold for dear life:p Those bruises are of the after math I'm guessin:p Apparently he's a PT stud in their eyes now which makes him happy because in the Drill Sgt. world a private never has anything on you and never will...lol...Way to go babe! Although the poor guy is losing his voice, ekkk! Not such a good thing in this new line of work:p Note to self: Go buy hubby some cough drops and lemon tea...

They get all kinds there. I was shocked when Robert told me that he has a former NFL football player and the graphic designer that worked on the movies Iron man and one other major movie (the name espaces me) as his privates! Wow, just goes to show you, that even though they made it in life, they still want to serve their country and that makes me proud...

There is so much more I could share but this post is already long enough so I will wait until a later date! I get to see the hubs again tonight so yay me! Just want to say "thank you" to all my readers for your time spent on my blog and your left comments, they REALLY make my day:)

Yes, PLEASE Cry For Me Argentina...

Ugggh, its inventory day at work and I'm really dreading it...This eventually came around with every retail/sales jobs I've held in the past but I hated it every time then too:p Although this time I am working ten hours straight tonight......blech....I have definitely worked more then this in one day but it feels different this time around seeing as I go in at 2:00 p.m today and won't get home until 12:30 a.m, but then have to be BACK at work by 6:30 a.m that same morning to start the inventory process. Thats like what, four hours of sleep...hssssss....Not to mention that our district manager AND regional manager are going to be there scanning right along side of me...A lot of big wigs in such a small store, makes me nervous....shudders...Good thing I'm told that Mike, the district manager likes me already, as he was the final decision maker on giving me the job...Now all I have to do is win over the regional manager:p

On a more positive note, EIGHT DAYS!!! Eight days until I head straight from work to Ft, Jackson, SC where I'll be watching R graduate Drill school the very next day!!! ( insert the, I'm so excited I could pee my pants dance here) Last weekend was a hard one for us both. The closer it gets to him returning home the harder it is to wait and let him leave each weekend!!! You'd think it be the other way around...Shrugs...Maybe its also because for the past two weekends, he's been leaving more and more of his stuff here at the apartment, so I'm getting to see more of him around the place now...Kind of solidifys his coming home that much more:)

Yesterday, it really it me though, about how hard its going to be not seeing him much in a week even though we're in the same town/bed every night. I guess I just had a (holy crap! this really is gonna be tough) moment...My first REAL one yet, I think:p But we all have them at some point right? I'm still sticking to my thoughts on this though... Might not have mentioned them yet, so here it is...I'd rather be only seeing him a few hours a week and know he's safe in my bed everynight, then have him in the sandbox and be out of my mind with worry for his safe return each and everyday...That thought is so sobering and completely snaps me out of any pity party I might be having!! It even worked yesterday during my holy crap moment:p I will definitely keep ya'll posted on our journey through the life of a drill Sgt. and his wife. I'm sure there'll be plenty of stupid/funny stories to share about antics the privates pull during basic...I know R has already shared a few with me and they're hilarious...Maybe I'll divulge next time:p Hope everyone has a wonder wednesday! I will post again tomorrow but most likely not until I've had a few hours of sleep:p I am one devoted blogger yo...peace-

So Proud Of My Hubby!

R got his hat today! This is a really big deal and I am soooo proud of him! Everyone is telling him he looks like the poster boy for a drill Sgt's:p I'd say I agree with that! He passed his last PT test today and just finished his last written exam right before he called me, so everything from here is down hill! Now just waiting on when I get to drive up there to see him graduate and then bring him home!

Stop Shakin The Milkshake!

So I'm really confused here...Is it just because I work in a gaming store where men are over populated, or is it the fact that I live in a military town where men are over populated? Here's my confusion, I have been dealing with being hit on a lot here lately and I don't mean like a few times a week, I mean like three and four times a day! The part that is really making me mad is that I'm married and most of these men are military!!! Isn't military men supposed to be, oh I don't know, honorable? Even though honor is one of the things that they are supposed to be about that doesn't stop them from coming up to me and saying , TO MY FACE "By the way, I'm single..." Or, I really like this one, "that's a beautiful ring by the way. Just checking here, is that a complete wedding set or are you just engaged?" Whats really disturbing is when their walking towards me and I say, "Hi, how are y'all?" and they never look at my face but instead look me up and down and reply with, "How you doin?" in a really suggestive manner. Or when I say "if there's anything I can do for y'all just let me know" and they actually reply back with, "Oh honey, there is plenty you can do for me" RWAR!!!! I mean come on! I'm really stuck here because I don't know how to react to that as I am in my work place and I'm there to be pleasant and helpful...I hate it when they continue to ask me and only me for help when there are three other game advisors just standing by, then continue to look deeply into my eyes as if there trying to feed me some important brain wave message...Double RWAR! Being new in this job, I don't want to rock the boat, but I love being married to my husband and I find it so disrespectful being oogled like this when I know that they know I'm married...I mean I talk about my husband all the time at work...Anyone could look at me and know I'm happily married just from my radiant glow:) I don't hide this stuff from R because I wouldn't want him to hide that kind of attention from me, so when I do tell him I try to make jokes of it....Like every time I have to tell him about the newest episode I'll fallow up with that song from, gosh, whats her face....Well the one that sings "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard:p" Of course I'm laughing hysterically while shaking my bon bon the whole time because that song is so ridiculous...This last time he fires back with, " WELL STOP SHAKIN THE MILKSHAKE!" Then we both fall on the floor in fits of giggles because, I don't know, it was just funny the way he said it! Anyway, I was just wanting y'all take on that...Do you think its the fact that their military and women just should fall at their feet or the fact that their just men and I'm working in a mans world? Any suggestions on how to handle these remarks would be great! By the way, thank you for all your comments! I'm really starting to feel like I'm apart of the cool peoples crowd and that makes me feel cool:p Night everyone!
