I Could Out Shine Mr. Sun On A Day Like This!

I have no direction for this post. Just warning you, ha! But this morning has been fabulous. The kiddo just went down for her 2 hour nap, which means I'm spending my coveted free time with y'all! Yes. Feel special. If you're a mom, you totally get what I'm talking about...In fact, you probably imagined me snarling my teeth and growling as I said "coveted free time." Am I right!?

I don't know. Today just had the feeling of sunshine and rainbows where I wanted to skip around and  sing "It's A Wonderful Life." While I AM an upbeat, positive individual most days (or at least I like to think I am) there are just days that feel more awesome then normal; where it feels like NOTHING can touch you! Admittedly, after typing that, I had a moment of fear. I also might have ducked my head, looking to the skies for signs of death by lightening??? I AM sorry if you experienced whats known as fearful association, just now, yourself. And for putting that evil on you, if you weren't already thinking it ;)

So why is my day so awesome.. Well it started with a kick-ass workout, which is always a mood booster! But while doing my fourth round of dishes this afternoon, it just hit me. I am completely blessed in life. I am happier then I have ever been. I have a wonderful child to call my own who is also happy and healthy. I have a marriage to be proud of and a husband who is, and has been, a source of strength for me. He has definitely added quality of life to my years, as it should be with one another! This realization has struck me many times in recent months and I'm not sure that I have the words to express it's emotional impact on me. Very blessed comes to mind... That someone sure knew what they where doing with the collision of our hearts. So yes. Life is good. I am blessed. And I cherish the day these two came into my life...

Excuse my daughters stoned expression :)

I won't stop there though! But only because I'm dying to share this news and maybe a bit premature but, Eh :) Blessing number 100,000,356 would be the FACT that I am returning to school. Let me just repeat that. I AM RETURNING TO SCHOOL! Y'all don't even KNOW how excited this makes me. Or maybe you do? I've worked all week (during baby naps) at getting applications submitted, fees paid, transcripts requested and FAFSA started. I have yet to receive my official college acceptance letter, but do not fear. I am getting that mug! I should have a letter in the next month. Mostly waiting on the 2-3 weeks it takes for my diploma to be sent over...*taps fingers*

I have tried going back to school in the past, but I have always hit road blocks, whether it be money, getting pregnant, lack of the right school with the right program. You name it... But this time, things feel so different. Two weeks ago I had a complete stranger (where I wasn't even digging or researching yet) drop the PERFECT school, for me and this military life, into my lap. And get this, she is actually in the degree program I have chosen. Can we say, inside track? I seriously have used her as my personal admissions and financial aid counselor the last week, lol! Sure beat the 20 minute wait times I was experiencing, trying to reach the school... So what will I be studying??? Well join me as I let out a HUGE sigh of relief. Because after eight years of being educationally MIA, I finally am 100% when I say I have found my passion and know the direction I need to be heading... I will be pursuing my undergraduate in psychology! But more importantly, a Masters in social work or counseling. I am leaning more towards social work... One thing is for certain. I WILL be working with children. Period. That's another post all on it's own. So let the long road ahead of me begin! I'm ready. Focused. Dedicated. I've got this...

So you see? Life is good! I seriously wouldn't be surprised if there were sunbeam rays, shining through my smile... AHHHH! But now that I've taken the better part of this 2 hour hiatus from baby, I need to get my bunz moving on folding these last loads of laundry. Ahh yes. The not so awesome part of my life ;) Thanks for listening y'all. I'll leave you with SugarCube who decided I mastered the art of mini pizza's today. because. duh. she's eating it. SUCCESS! Yet another cloud for my dancing feet...

Did I Miss Something?

So ummmm...

Was I so disconnected from Blogger, Facebook and the Internet in general last week that I missed everyone's raving reviews on the new movie

AHHHMAZING!!!

Of course it helps that I love all the main actors and actresses! Mainly, eye candy Chris Hemsworth who I refer to as "Thor" Lol!

A LOT off track but I was super bummed I didn't get to see Thor and Natalie Portman seal their love with a kiss in the Avengers....Yes. AWESOME action scenes and a really good movie. Fantastic movie actually. It doesn't disappoint.  But I wanted my kiss! What. I'm a girl...Don't tease me with a really good love story then leave me hanging! Lol

I'm also now in LOVE with Florence + The Machine's new song Breath Of Life...

Holy cow I could sit and listen to this song for hours at a time! I actually came home at a little past midnight and went straight to my computer so I could download it for my iPod.

Beyond that, was I the only one surprised by all the beautiful, artful scenes??? Wow. The movie was really good but BEAUTIFUL to watch! I loved it!

I'm really glad I decided to brave it with my sis and the kiddo!!! I was so afraid of Sugarcube screaming, squawking, fussing, farting, coughing. You name it, through the entire movie. I obviously would have been a decent person and just left or taken her to the bathroom had that happened, but thankfully it didn't and my plan worked. We went to a late showing, past her bedtime, and she slept the whole way through. I know I'm not the only one who thinks it's rude to let your child scream or cry the entire movie...Not cool for the baby or paying customers...

In other news, I MISS MY HUSBAND! It's only been a week and I still have about 3 more to go...Ugh. He had to turn in his phone last night for 2 weeks which really sucks. I hate not being able to throw him a text, knowing that I'll get a response back at some point throughout the day... I'm looking forward to his home coming for sure! I have an awesome date planned for us, where I'm whisking him away for an entire weekend; just the two of us! Of course, I'm enlisting my sisters help with the baby to pull this off. She's seriously the best sis; so helpful with the transition as a new mom and always making sure that R and I have husband and wife time. I'm definitely not looking forward to the rude awakening, that I'm positive, will follow once baby number 2 arrives and my sis isn't around, ha!

So tell me I'm not the only one who thought this movie was
FABULOUS!?

My Bitter Sweet June

Next month is going to be happy and sad in the Baby "G" household---

Sad, because my love is headed to California for a 3 week deployment training...Sigh.  And to make that worse, they are not allowed to have their phones for the first 2 weeks, ick! I guess I should look at this like a trial run for the real thing, huh? I mean, he can't exactly be running practice missions, or real missions for that matter, and be texting his wife...I get it---It still didn't help the moment of panic knowing that I'll be a single mom for 3 weeks!

But now for the MEGA HAPPY part! A visit from my sister Autumn and younger brother Brian!!!Their flying in from Tennessee, for a week long visit the later part of June!

Sissy-poo is also bringing my adorable niece and nephew with her!

These kids are seriously the sweetest and I can't wait to snuggle their necks!
It'll be so good seeing them again. The last time I saw everyone, I was 20 weeks pregnant and very tired. While I still look 20 weeks pregnant, haha, I'm not so tired this time around and they have our little Sugarcube to meet!

We're planning an over night trip to the Pacific Ocean to start, which couldn't come at a better time because this Mama is feeling very house bound and in dire need of a time out--

Do any of my readers know of a good beach town on the shores of Washington/Oregon to stay at? I'm kind of leaning towards Cannon Beach, Oregon so that we'll be close enough to visit the Tillamook cheese factory. I used to live in Oregon and this was a tradition of my dad's, every time we went. Gotta keep up the traditions! I'm also a huge cheese fan and it doesn't hurt that they have handmade ice cream and fudge there! Oh my gosh, all bad for you which will most certainly keep me looking like my current self but SO GOOD!

The over all plan is to just have fun and enjoy the visit. But if anyone had suggestions on things to do in the Tacoma/Seattle area, except for the whole Pikes market scene, I would be all ears! I continue to tell people  "We're still new here" but I guess that's not entirely true. I counted down the months we've been in Washington on my hand the other day and I was shocked to find we've been here 9 months!!! It's definitely time to start exploring and making this place feel less foreign;)

P.s Happy 200th Post To Me!

August 6, 2009

HELLO!

HELLO HELLO! So today's my day off and BOY am I glad about that! Right now I am sporting a pretty good cold with an annoying cough so I could use a day to myself. It feels like its been forever since my last post and I hate that:( But thank you all for your support and understanding *sends hearts*.

Really, there's nothing exciting to report. Bella had a vet appointment on Tuesday for some awful skin condition that she has broken out with. Turns out she has some type of mange...EKK! I asked Robert where in the world she picked that up at seeing as we wash her about once every two weeks and shes not in filth at all...I feel like such a bad mommy because is that something you could prevent? Well, she is on meds for the sores, and they medicated her skin then told us to give her Benadryl twice a day for the itching so hopefully this stuff kicks the bucket soon!

Robert finished up his first rotation last Thursday so he had a four day weekend and then is on leave until this Monday. I'm really glad he was able to get this time off because he was t.i.r.e.d! For the past five days hes basically been living at the auto skills center on post with his stang:p Something happened to it some weeks back so he decided it would be a good idea to rip it apart and find the problem. I am proud of him because its not like he's this big time mechanic that knows all. He's read book after book on the car and it seems to be paying off because he found the problem, then another one...This one kind of hurts the wallet because its a cracked head. Those babies cost a whopping 1,500! Act now, cringe later kind of deal though because if we leave it, that could mean even bigger problems down the road; costlier problems:p I'm going over there today to check out his progress and take a few pictures:)

As for me, its been crazy busy at work, which is better then no work! Kids go back to school today so it should slow down some before the holiday season gets here...A few of my sisters and I are planning a Florida vacation at the end of Oct. THIS I am so excited about! We are going to stay on the beach for 4 nights then commute the 45 minutes to Disney World while we're there! Best of both worlds if you ask me:) Robert hopefully gets to come, but its right in the middle of a rotation so its not set in stone. I've been keeping up with my running except for the past three days. Because of this cold, it has made me really weak and just miserable:( I think its so awesome that two of my older sisters and one younger brother has gotten into running because of me...One of them smokes and she swore up and down that he would never be a runner, so I like to laugh at her now:) Their doing awesome with it! I only wish we all lived closer so I could run with them...Boo...I had to buy another pair of glass which I got in a few days ago. I hated doing that, but Robert wanted me to have the exact ones that Bella chewed up. "You looked good in those babe." He told me, so I folded:p

Well I have not been on any of your blogs in a few days so I'm going to do that now before Robert wakes up. I hope you're all enjoying your week and that its not quite as long until my next post:p

Caio!

Good And Bad...

Well once again, I have fell behind on my blogging and commenting! I finally was able to get that darn comforter to dry by stuffing it into the washer and placing it on "spin" cycle. Once most of the water was out, it went into the dryer, but do not fear, I stayed with it the whole time praying that the machine wouldn't explode:p Yes, it came out a wrinkled mess, but that's okay...At least its clean! So glad all of you laughed so hard over my stupidity:)
Gosh, it seems like so much has happened since my last post! Found out yesterday that my younger sister is getting married in October...I do not say this excitedly however...This is such a long story so I will refrain. Took Bella to the pound on Monday only to return home with her after being told that she would be put down that day, due to an over flow of animals...Yeah, that's another long story that I'm SURE your trying to understand seeing as Bella is my baby. I will try to post about that soon. Just know that it worked out after a very stressful night and morning full of tears...Excitedly, my older sister has a love interest, that just MIGHT be interested back after seven months. Too soon to tell though:) Had my $350.00 coach glasses chewed up by my puppy right along with my second phone charger...This is not the reason she was taken to the pound mind you:p managed to build a pretty nasty knot in my shoulder blades which is causing a lot of back pain and neck pain. I'm getting it from my runs I think. I need to focus more on staying loose and agile:p Other then that, not much else to report! My running continues and in fact, I have come to the idea that I need to start building through the week instead of going after 4 miles each run...I hear how a lot of you start off easy then build and build until Sunday where you do a long run...I'm gonna try this and see how well it works!
Tomorrow Robert has PT but then is off for the rest of the day! We're going to see if my glasses can be salvaged first, then we're headed to the beach at Calloway Gardens for some fun in the sun:p I hope you all had a fabulous Tuesday! Tomorrow I plan to make my rounds on everyone's blogs and and beg for forgiveness; I've been gone for too long, once again:( Catch you chica's later;)

Reenlistment...

After work tonight, I swung by Ft. Benning to drop dinner off to Robert because he had CQ again...Bummer... But in all honesty I could kiss him; You see, the hubs actually volunteered for another one just so he could have tomorrow off with me...Be still my heart! Isn't he just a peach:p However, getting back on track...Robert asked me a really good question tonight that I thought would be interesting to ask all of my military followers/wives...This might actually be an easy "cut and dried" answer for a lot of you, but for me it was something to think about...Over the course of eating his Shrimp Parmesan Pasta, Robert and I headed into the whole him reenlisting conversation (again) but this time Robert wanted to know my thoughts on it, and if I could decide whether he stay or get out, what would I choose and why...Hmmmm...I hadn't really thought about this much because I know this is his life and he intends to make it a career, so I never question it... But after some hemming and hawing, I came to the conclusion that even though I hate the thought of him deploying again and I'd love to have him home more, the simple truth is...The Army is where it's at for Robert...He is the type of man that is happiest when he feels apart of something, and the military is definitely a big something...I came to this conclusion many months ago when he'd tell me, there were days that he wanted to go back to Iraq and he truly meant it...Oh yes, I got my feelings hurt over this... I understood him to be saying he'd rather be fighting over there then be home with me. However, I now know, that was my hurt and insecurity thinking, and I dug deep to really see what was behind this crazy talk...This is what I found....Robert, like all the men, want that deep sense of manly belonging and purpose and fighting this war has brought that to them in the biggest way...Lets be honest, this war blends perfectly with our men's makeup and feeds them in a way that we (their women/family) will never be able to. But in saying that, we are what drives our men to stand up and fight, ultimately placing them into the breeding grounds where their nature can relate and thrive...So to give you the answer I gave my husband just over an hour ago, No I do not want him to "get out" and yes I do want him to reenlist. My husbands happiness means everything to me and to encourage him into something I know would leave him empty, is wrong. Robert, has come to the same conclusion, I think, but wanted to hear me say the words "Its okay." I feel he also wanted to give me that voice most of us military wives feel we don't have? Ahhhhh, yet another reason I married this man...So thoughtful and I LOVE HIM! What about you ladies? What are your thoughts on the hubs reenlisting/not?

Robert's new endearment for me is "My artichoke heart." And for some reason it just melts my pee pickin little heart:p Goodnight everyone and P.s. Have all of you been running into problems with commenting on my blog? Because twice I have heard from readers who have been and now I'm curious...Let me know!

Edit: I should probably say that this next reenlistment means life for Robert until he retires, so its a big final decision for us!

Loved Every Minute Of It...Sigh

I forgot how much I L.O.V.E.D the movie A Little Princess...After flipping through the movie channels while Robert lay sleeping, I spoted this movie on Encore and was instantly taken back to when I discovered this movie for the first time. Sigh...For those of you who haven't watched it, you should...In my mind, its a classic and I can't believe I don't own it!
So there was that, but onto my WONDERFUL three day weekend with the hubs:p
It started on Friday with waking up and heading to Ihop for some pancakes and coffee...I absolutely love doing this with Robert. We have some of the best conversations over piping hot java and a hearty breakfast. Its fantastic:) After a good two hours spent there we head back to the house for some showers and to grab our swim attire. One hour later we were on our way to Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountian, GA which is about 30 minutes from our place. Let me just say that I WASN'T expecting it to be so big and beautiful! Tons of lakes and rivers with blossoming bushes of every color; fishing, golfing, biking, swimming in gorgeous blue water with a beach, butterfly gardens to observe, and lots more! We actually went there intending to layout and enjoy the beach and sun but got sidetracked by all of the unexpected views and activities:) We still didn't see it all by the time we left but, we will definitely be back especially since military gets in free:p
Back at the homestead, it was late enough to grab dinner so we opted for a delicious meal at O'Charlies...YUM! The rest of the night was filled with fishing in our pond outback, snuggling on the couch and just enjoying our time together...Bella chewed up my phone charger again so I had no phone ringing off the hook, which was sort of nice!
Saturday and Sunday was pretty much a repeat of Friday except on Sunday we attended Robert's bosses wedding...I was sad that we didn't get pictures taken together because Robert was in his class A's, per request of his boss, and I was in a really sexy red and black dress...I'm not sure the name of the style but I just love it:) However, I'm paying for wearing those heels with it today...My calves felt so strained that it cost me my run:( Tomorrow I'll be getting out there for sure...I know I shirked on my blogging duties over these past three days, but can ya blame a girl:p I was having way too much fun with the husby:) But it's definitely time to emerge back into the blogging world when Robert came home all sad because he didn't have a new read at work today...Lol...I hope everyone had a really good time this weekend as well; filled with lots of good food, fireworks and family:) I'll be catching up and commenting on y'alls blogs over the next few days so see you there!

Our Sixth Month!

On June 27th, Robert and I hit six months of marriage! And lordy, is has just flown by! In honor of this landmark, I've decided to post this picture of us both. This was a good day...Here is one of the pictures from that week of our first physical meeting...Four years it took us to finally get here, that when I finally made it, I was so dizzy with excitment! The whole nine days were just wonderful...Definitely memories that I will carry and charish the rest of my life...
However, in this six months of marriage I have been suprised about how easy it is being his wife and he says the same. Life is just so smooth and calm with him. I love how we laugh all the time and play like two very in love individuls...We look out for one another in everything: sickness, health, bad moods or good moods, we're there for each other. Two years ago I would have laughed in your face had you told me marriage would be the one thing that made me happier then anything in the world, but it has...I looked at my parents marriage and was skeptical that anyone could be completely happy in a union like this, but six months ago, there I was entering into one of my own and it was the best feeling...I didn't have hopes of being happy with this man, I KNEW we would be happy...I'm not waiting for the other shoe to drop, even though this was very much me, in the past. Instead, I look forward to seeing how much more we'll grow in the future...The thought of being happier then I am now is hard to phatom but who knows...The day will come where we have children and the thought of looking down and seeing both him and I molded inside of a little one that we created, just makes my heart smile... That day, I know, my laughter is going to bubble over while I look at my husband and my eyes say, "I love you."
I love you babe! Here's to six more months of this same good stuff with you...
MWAH!

Something Unexpected!

First, I would like to say "HEY" to all of my newest followers! I don't know if I'm just more interesting this week but after I lost those 2 followers last week, I regained 6! So can't wait to get to know ya'll better and feel free to say hello at anytime:) I love hearing from you all!

A short running update would be that, I've decided a run is not in my cards today:( On Friday I ran longer yet, and finished with 3.25 miles outside! However, this increased milage, every other day, isn't boding well for my muscle recovery, so we wait until Sunday! Tomorrow will be the weeks end for my running log and will read that I put in just over 9 miles.. THATS a HUGE increase from what I WAS running, anywhere from 3.5 to 5 miles a week. Not bad legs!

In another part of my world, I don't know how it happened, but R and I are getting a three day off together the weekend of the 4th! We are both so excited. The husby said last night that, that is the only thing keeping him going at this point:( Poor guy is soooo sooo tired and really needs a break...Besides lots of sleep for him, snuggle time for me and his First Sergeant's wedding on Sunday, I'm not sure what else to do that weekend. It was so unexpected...I was thinking maybe a day at the water park or even a small trip to Six Flags over Georgia? At any rate, he texted me while at work last night with this good news and I went from being really tired, to giddier then a school girl:p Its all I can think about, Ha!

I'm off to catch up on everyone's fab blogs! Have a great weekend chica's:)

Creepy Finds...

So I was cleaning my house at 2:00 a.m. thursday morning and, while doing so, I found the words and images for my next post. please refrain from laughing over my early morning house work All I can say about the pictures below is, "Lord help the stupid fool who ever trys and breaks into this particualr apartment." Please enjoy while I show you the creepy things this Army wife gets to dust and clean around:)

This is an IED *explosive which can still explode* that Robert brought back from Iraq with him, I'm sure...He has another one on the shelf below this one. I'm almost positive he had them positioned as book ends before we got married...

From the words of Crocodile Dundee "Now thats a knife!" I mean, what am I going to do with that? Filet a steak?

Now this I can get excited about! I frequently run around the apartment with this massive samuri sword all the while yipping and pipping like Zena the Warrior Princess...You don't even want to see me in that leather getup:p

And yes, the husby's nightstand...All that edgy metal and there stands one of my purfume bottles:p Oh and his nose hair pluckers; now thats good for an eye gouge aye?

But wait! He does have a soft side...This is "Fred" the bear he sent me from Iraq with, not one but, TWO vases of fresh flowers...His redeeming qualities:p

So whats the verdict? Is he weird or does your husbands bestow these little gifts into your cleaning as well?

The hubs has been holding out!

Today is my second day off and I'm already going stir crazy...I managed to go for a 1.5 mile run yesterday on my new found trail where I paid attention to the name this time; Heath Park its called. Yesterday was my run day and even though I'm sick, I still didn't want to miss it! It was a terrible run, full of short breaks, side stitches, period cramps, calves burning and shortness of breath. However, I went into the run not really expecting anything less so I wasn't too disappointed when I couldn't make the 2 miles. At least I got my rear out there right? I did push myself harder though by running faster so I'm guessing that's why I was experiencing shortness of breath and couldn't finish. Oh well, gotta take the good days with the bad days right! Now I want to go again but for a different reason today... The hubby has been holding out on his wifey, but not intentionally:p Apparently he's had one of those GPS Garmin watches I've been wanting! He bought it during his deployment in Iraq and its been sitting in his nightstand this entire time! Sheesh:p The watch he bought me two weeks ago isn't cutting the butter as its a whole .5 miles off when its counting my distance, so last night Robert showed me his watch and also how to use it. I cannot wait to get it out doors and give it a go! Too bad I'm cramping worse today then ever and also have sore legs:( Maybe just one mile?

P.S. Thank you all SOOOO much for your "get well" wishes and support for taking off a day I should have been working:) Love you gals!

Two things I'm really crushin on right now!

Well I am certainly pumped, to say the least, about two thing!!! Thing number one is, I went shopping at the commissary for my very first time yesterday...Weeeee! It was so much fun, even though I did miss the opportunity for lunch with my hunnie:( Apparently I was there while he came all the way back to this side of town for his break:p Bummer, but I did get to see him in passing on my way back...He's so handsome on his triumph/bike:p Anyway, recently I've been noticing that my bi-weekly trips to Wal-Mart has been leaving our bank account depleted more then usual! I just have to say that I am not one of those people who buy the name brands of everything from Kosher pickles to Purity milk, so I am price conscience. But even so, I am still leaving that place with MAYBE six bags in hand and $150.00 less in our account! I get it all home and I'm like, "This is all I got for $150.00?" What the heck! So imagine my joy and surprise when I left the commissary yesterday with a whole cart full of groceries while only spending $135.00! Knowing my prices at Wal-mart really helped me note the major deals I was getting while there...The differences were anywhere from fifty cents to seven dollars even! I really noticed it with meat cost. I like to make pot roast for the hubs but the chunk of meat I buy at Wal-Mart usually costs me like $13 so its a meal we don't make often:( However, yesterday I found the same piece of meat, with less fat, costing me a grand total of 5.00! WOAHA! I could go on all day about the savings I found there but I really must get onto the next thing I'm excited about:) But to wrap this up...If you haven't ever shopped at the commissary then you should! I understand that not all commissaries have such huge variations over Wal-mart in prices but Ft. Benning sure is nice:p
Okay, so today was a run day for me. I stressed about it all last night because the thought of the treadmill is really giving me stomach cramps but yet I haven't found a good place to run outside still...The little half mile loop inside my apartment complex isn't cutting it anymore either. So today, I went out in search of a nice little residential area but what did I find? I found the coolest wooded trail ever! I stumbled onto it by complete accident and I'm thanking God so much right now! He knows my anxiety about running in traffic so this is perfect for me...Its a two mile hard packed sand/dirt loop, through thick beautiful trees that, at some points, has a river running through it...Bliss...It was so fun to run... I was just kept chugging along, enjoying all the greenery, sounds of birds chirping, wind in my hair, and even the sweat running down my face because it meant I was getting the job done:p I came up over this one hill and was surprised to see a gorgeous lake hidden back in there! I was totally wishing I had my camera to show you all. The trail looped around the lake and then back to where I started. I am happy to report that I ran the whole durn thing!!! I was even sad when it ended:p This is going to be my running spot for sometime now so I can breath easy about my anxiety of having to run in town and continue my running outdoors in this beautiful oasis! That's all for now:) Tomorrow I plan on posting about my, new found, dislike of cheap alien comedy? However, that might change when tomorrow gets here:p So I'm off to work! Have a wonderful Friday everyone:)
P.S. Thank you all for taking the time to feed my curiosity of how you got into blogging and why!

May 3, 2009

A (sweet) I told you so

Obviously the hubby doesn't consider me fat when he makes me chocolate covered strawberries and hijacks my blog to put his two cents in:p I kidd you not, I was typing my previous post last night when Robert decided that he needed to read it before I published it. He knew I was writing about my recent weight insecurity and wanted to make sure I was not making it sound worse then what it really is:p What he typed was just too cute and funny, I had to leave it....Lol...I figured you girls would get a kick out of it as well...But moving back to the delicious strawberries in the photo! The last time Robert attempted to make these for me we ended up with one huge jaw breaker ball of chocolate but managed to get one very lumpy strawberry covered before the chocolate got too hard;) He was super proud of himself last night when these actually turned out and even more proud as I ooed and awed over his mini master pieces:) They were mouth watering! Thanks to all of you ladies who commented on my last post. Everything you all said was so sweet and helpful and made me feel ten times better. The hubs logged onto my page this morning the exact moment I did but only in his office to read along with all your comments. He was sitting all of fifteen feet away saying, "See, see I told you so!" (insert him sticking his tongue out at me here) You made his day as well as mine;)

He says, she says

Plain and simple, I am feeling like a fatty! I have been running for a good month now, just about every one to two days and have been pretty happy with the results. But that was up until two days ago...All of a sudden I'm noticing that my thighs and butt are getting BIGGER! Ummmm, this is not what a woman wants to see after a month of running! So my hubby has an argument on the matter, which is that I am building muscle on top of the fat that I always carried in those areas, but that I just haven't been at it long enough to start seeing that new muscle burning the fat away...This makes sense I will admit. I guess I just have a huge fear of becoming bulky down there and that is not something I wanted to see happen. I want the muscle, don't get me wrong, but I want lean muscle. Any thoughts or personal experiences of your own would be sooooo helpful! I'm feeling kinda insecure here:( I guess I just want to hear that it'll get better; That the ugly duckling phase is just part of it? (PS: This is the hubby typing: She is NOT GETTING FAT!! she is looking better and better, nice tight legs, butts getting all perky, shes just building more muscle then shes had before and looking damn fine I might add...Ok I'm done now;)

My life sized red pen

I am a terrible speller and I admit it, but that does not stop me from writing! So the hubby reads my blog about every few days and I know that a lot of you ladies have husbands that do the same too, but do they whip out that dreaded red pen everytime you misspell something? Well my hubby does:p Just now, infact, he was catching up on my blog and started laughing....Apparently I misspelled follower as (fallower) and also stated in a different post that they sang credence in the Army rather then (cadence)...HA HA! I say this all in good humor because, as I stated above, I know I'm terrible with grammer and spelling, but thats okay because (weather, ha ha) or not I spell something incorrectly or word something the wrong way, I still get my point across and thats what this whole blogging thing is about, right? Now, don't get me wrong, once my attention is brought to an error I immediately fix it and try to remember how its done for future occurrences. There is a huge difference between being (challenged) yet rising to the occasion, and being challenged yet doing nothing to improve yourself in that challenge. I use the word "challenge" here because this applies to ALL taxing situations in life and not just in my little world of grammer mishaps...However, this last sentance strongly begs for a soap box and a much longer post so we shall end here:p

Say what! And I missed it!

Ummm, so apparently there was a tornado that tore up down town Columbus last night (about 4 miles from my house) and I didn't know a thing about it...WHA! I mean if I even get a whif of one lurking near by I go into complete freak mode and stare at the T.V all night feeling like my heart is going to burst from fear, waiting for the sirens or the news that it has past, or something!....So what was I doing last night? Ohhhhh, I was sitting in our living room staring, instead, at blogger happy as a bug in a rug:p I looked up at one point and saw some lightning but continued on with my reading, then the lights started to flicker, but it wasn't that sever out so I ignored it, then the sirens went off, but I ignored that too because they go off every Saturday night just to do checks; I thought that was what they were up to. So I didn't even pay attention to the guy who came across the loud speaker, obviously NOT, saying "This is a test. I repeat, this is a test." I only found out about it when I woke up this morning to a text my hubby sent asking me if I was okay, then telling me that there were tornados that touched down last night....Gosh, I must be slipping:p No one was hurt but a bunch of down town is all jacked up to where streets have totally been shut down...Have I mentioned how much I hate tornados! It was probably a good thing I didn't know; Being all alone, I probably would have hyperventilated to death!

On a happier note! I just got the best wife award of the year, or at least from my hubby anyhow...He has always had a dream of owning a 1967 mustang shelby fastback and found the perfect one on Ebay last night...If you're not sure what kind of a car that is, its Elenore off of Gone In Sixty Seconds, however he had been dreaming about that car even before Elenore, lol...We've been talking about this for a good three months now and have decided that if he really wants to do this, then we need to do it when we're young and before the kids arrive...This car costs a lot in case you didn't know! So the one he found last night is actually a steal at 33,000 and so he bid on it! He is, as of right now, the top dog and leading the pack; I really hope it stays that way! I told him if we get it that, thats one hell of a graduation gift:p I'll keep ya'll posted on whether or not we get it! I think the auction ends on Saturday so I should have good or bad news to blog about then:p Good night ladies, this tired girl is off to la la land:)
